Galerie Laffanour displayed architect and designer Charlotte Perriand's work at Design Miami/ 2013 in an exhibition entitled "Charlotte Perriand – A House in Montmartre." The design pieces in the exhibition included a bookcase, mahogany console table, a ceiling lamp, and other works that she created during the '50s. Pharrell Williams was in attendance and one piece in particular caught his attention: an original chair covered in black and white cow hide.
Most people would admire the chair and move on, but as a creative who has designed chairs of his own, Pharrell was drawn to the piece, taking the time to feel the wood and materials so that he could get a better understanding of the artist's vision.
