Menswear saw a definite turn in formalities in 2013. Like, do neckties still exist? Was the #1 search term "long tunic" or "leather jogging pants?" Whatever the case may be, even high-end fashion houses dabbled in a more street-forward approach to pieces in their collection for the year. And a large part of that are designer sneakers.
While brands like Nike and Jordan still rule the casual sneaker business, menswear-centric designers are giving them a run for their money by taking more risks with design, manufacturing with a little more detail and using materials the mainstream brands only dream of using in their lifestyle brands. And this past year saw these designer brands push it to the fucking limit. Wallets exploded this year thanks to The 20 Best Designer Sneakers of 2013.
