The Rick Owens for Adidas Spring/Summer 2014 Footwear Collection Is From the Shadowy Future

We wouldn't expect any less.

Adidas’ roster of forward thinking designers might have an attention-grabber on its hands with the recent signing of Kanye West. But established players like Rick Owens are also scoring some next-level points for the brand with his upcoming collection. When it was announced the master of street goth was making a running shoe with the sportswear brand, people already expected kicks that probably only exist on a hidden futuristic planet that lies in the shadow of the sun.

Rick Owens' avant-garde approach shines in this sneaker collection. There is minimal branding, with the signature three stripes showing up only as perforations. And the soles come in two separate pieces that give off crazy animalistic hoof vibes. Details on support and how it will function with cardio fitness that it was inspired by are yet to be disclosed, but honestly, who the fuck cares. Premium leather and high-quality nylon mean the gym bros are going to stay far, far away from this one. These are currently available at select retailers including Sneakerboy, with more doors to follow soon.
