We’re all prone to rank the best moments, cultural events, albums, magazines, and so on of the past year. The tech nerds behind Instagram are no different: they posted up their most-Instagrammed locations of 2013 just yesterday.
So here they are, the most Instagrammed locations on the planet, with all but two being in the United States:
- Siam Paragon (สยามพารากอน) shopping mall, Bangkok, Thailand
- Times Square, New York
- Disneyland, California
- Bellagio Fountains, Las Vegas
- Disney World Florida
- Staples Center, Los Angeles
- Central Park, New York
- Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles
- Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ, Bangkok, Thailand
- The High Line, New York
The airport in Bangkok topped the list last year, and the Bellagio fountain, the High Line park, and Central Park are all newbies on the queue. While New York City is actually the most posted-from city in the world, there seem to be more Instagram posts from this one megalmall in Thailand. The Next Web posits this is because Thai people are more prone to Instagram their trips to the mall, particularly because retailers play into the desire to do so, setting up elaborate, photogenic displays.
