When you don't understand something, ask questions. Don't just "figure it out." There's quite a bit at risk if you make a mistake, like say, sending clothes for a shoot to the wrong venue or state. Asking questions also shows you're willing to learn. But when you inquire about something, make sure you're paying attention and it's not something that's already been addressed or merely requires minimal common sense. You don't want to have to approach your editors with the same thing; they're busy people and do not want to be bothered. There's a fine line between being wanting to learn and just asking too many damn things.
Ask questions, but don't be annoying.
