Food artists Caitlin Levin and Henry Hargreaves have recreated some of the world’s most famous art museums, including the Tate Modern, the Louvre, and the Guggenheim, using a festive and tasty medium. The project is on display at Dylan’s Candy Bar during Art Basel Miami.
The gingerbread structures pay homage to the architectural ingenuity of each of the museums, as well as to the tradition for the arts each building represents. Each building’s uniqueness is captured in different ways by various sweets. The Guggenheim’s wrap around windows are made of licorice, the Karuizawa Museum’s outer shell is made from chocolate bars, and the Louvre’s famous windows are constructed using hard candy.
