The brain trust behind this operation painstakingly complied all the fantasy, horror, and sci-fi literature and film they could get their hands on and then scrupulously classified the mysterious and bizarre happenings by state. The result is an stimulating and colorful map of the United States, or what it would look like if all those fictional stories had actually taken place.
Authors of screenplays and books seem to have favorites. California and Florida, for example, can barely contain all their strange occurrences, while quieter states like North Dakota and Delaware, it appears, don’t seem to offer much potential as a backdrop to fantastical story telling.
