Zaha Hadid recently unveiled her design plans for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar and more than a few people found the designs to be a little vagina-esque. While some pointed to the overwhelming number of phallic structures in the world and welcomed Hadid's plan, others just found the accidental resemblance to be very funny. But Hadid does not see the comedy nor does she accept the comparison. Hadid told TIME that she finds it "embarrasing that [critics] come up with nonsense like this. What are they saying? Everything with a hole in it is a vagina? That’s ridiculous." She also said that if the designs were made by a man, no one would be making those connections.
