As winter approaches, athletes are gearing up and preparing for the 2014 Winter Olympics, which start on February 7, 2014.

In honor of the monumental event, The North Face is releasing a new series of apparel, titled the "Sochi Villagewear" collection. The iconic outerwear company uses bold patriotic colors to decorate the garments and accessories, but also to "capture the international spirit of global competition." The line provides a selection of limited-edition hoodies, hats, and tees that we've come to expect, but also features a few pieces that definitely have some flavor from host country Russia.

In addition, The North Face have officially announced that they are partnering with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and are providing the entire freeskiing team with their technical outerwear for the Olympic Games, so be sure to check out the gear come February. Be on the lookout for the entire Sochi Villagewear collection to hit stores in the upcoming weeks.
