The Most Stylish Editors of Your Favorite Magazines

Elgar Johnson started off working for his dad's transport company, but was soon discovered in the streets of London and launched his modeling career. From there, he fast became the Menswear Editor of i-D, and now reigns as Fashion Editor of the highly influential British magazine. While Elgar embraces the dressier traditions of his homeland, he'll never look too stuffy, and always brings that rakish element that is impossible for most to affect. His style may be something that can't be taught, but it wouldn't ever hurt to try and emulate Johnson's steez.

Esquire

The Big Black Book that Esquire puts out twice a year is basically the menswear bible and Nick Sullivan is essentially your menswear Jesus. Who's not going to listen to an editor's predictions and advice when he dresses as cool as Nick? Statement outerwear usually paired with an informal mixture of jackets and denim or well-fitting chinos make up Sullivan's uniform because he knows the right essentials, as he perfectly displays in each edition of The Big Black Book. 

Fantastic Man Magazine 

Fantastic Man's ability to stay on top of culturally relevant topics, like great features with Spike Jonze, is phenomenal. Fantastic Man keeps it simple and doesn't try to get too crazy. This is very evident within its heavy style influence, which stays true to its course with co-founder Gert Jonkers at the helm of the ship. And it certainly is reflected in his personal style, always keeping it simple enough to avoid peacocking, but cool enough to get proper recognition. Jonkers embodies why it's so easy to understand Fantastic Man's popularity within the menswear world.

GQ 

GQ is filled to the brim with astonishingly stylish editors who are constantly street styled while making their rounds of various fashion shows around the world. But something about Michael Hainey's style sets him apart. Is it his formal, well-fitting that is sometimes infused with a tinge of rebellion? Is it his signature flat top haircut and glasses? Whatever it is, the deputy editor is among the most influential stylish men out right now. 

T Magazine 

T Magazine has become one of the foremost authorities on fashion ever since Bruce Pask took control. An authority on style in his own right, Pask is a street style favorite, constantly teetering on the threshold and always landing on the side of dopeness. You may catch him in a nautical-inspired get up with a jacket draped over his shoulders or you can find him in some lavish fur coat or shawl cover. Whatever you see him it, it's got ridiculous amounts of swag. 

The Fader 

The Fader's penchant for all-encompassing coverage of today's what-have-you in pop culture would be nothing without Mobalaji's Dawodu's stylish presence. Dawodu is a walking definition of style, and he is constantly in the thick of next-level aesthetics as The Fader's style editor-at-large. You will most likely catch him absolutely killing it in a traditional African print and funky hat that many can try, but they will fail miserably.  

Fashion for Men

Fashion for Men magazine of Italy is, well: Fashion with a capital "F." Thus, photographer extraordinaire and editor-in-chief, Milan Vukmirovic embodies Fashion with a capital "F." The man you see in all of Tommy Ton's street style photos that looks all swole in some serious duds from Balmain to Moncler to Visvim is the same man who's putting this new mag on the map. It's easy to get behind a great magazine when you know it's in hands as good and reputable as Vukmirovic's.

L'Uomo Vogue 

Sometimes, a dude's just gotta peacock. Robert Rabensteiner's forward-thinking is what has him on an elite list of editors who have this style shit down. His work with Vogue Italia is lauded with some of the highest praise in men's style, while his personal style has a lot of men trying to get shot by Ton or Schuman whilst rocking a floppy hat that, unlike anyone else, he can actually pull off. That's what happens when you exude as much style as Rabensteiner does.

Takahiro Kinoshita's style is one-of-a-kind. Much like his incredible spreads in POPEYE, a Japanese favorite in the U.S., Kinoshita has a sense of style that only one with a keen eye for intricate detail can have. The street style legend makes his way to NY quite a bit, so you can almost undoubtedly catch a flick of him everytime he's here. He's just that good.
