Brands go through collaborations with a goal of further progressing the reach of their labels through new audiences. And while that is the target for many business owners, it’s not the only one. Staple teamed up with HUF, Black Scale, and 10.Deep to work on a two-piece capsule collection dropping on Black Friday to help raise funds for Art Start, a non-profit organization that nurtures at-risk kids through creativity with the help of mentors.

In the personal letter he wrote for the collab, Jeff Staple, founder and creative director of Staple Design, wrote: "I always shied from streetwear-to-streetwear collaborations because I felt like it wasn't that interesting. I am always more intrigued by what different fields of expertise can produce together. But this opportunity I am about to present REALLY excites me."

The four-way collaboration will include an Art Start Varsity Jacket ($224) and an Art Start Mitchell & Ness ($24) snapback. Each brand is represented through blacked-out chenille patch details. All proceeds from this collection will be donated to Art Start.

According to Jeff, the project started with a "simple conversation" with "three other designers that [he] greatly respects" and that they want to use this to "not only represent both coastlines of America, but also represent the many facets of street culture." He says they all "wanted to find a way to give back."

Well, perhaps with Art Start’s help in providing a voice to the youth, there’s a chance for the kids to achieve something really great. Like being the next hot streetwear brand.

Shop the collection when it drops at Reed Space and select retailers on Friday, Nov. 29. It beats waiting hours in line for a T.V.
