Luis Vuitton officially confirmed that it has hired Nicholas Ghesquière, but it’s not for the Creative Director position that was previously reported by Luxury Society. After a few weeks on being mum about the matter, the luxury company has official come forward to announce the French designer as the new Artistic Director of women’s collections, according to WWD.

The designer's first work for the fashion house will be seen this coming March, and it will be interesting to see where he takes his vision. LV added that Ghesquière would add “a modern creative vision to the house’s women’s collections, building on the values of refinement, savoir faire and extreme quality.”

This should be a walk in the park for the former Balenciaga designer, but the challenge is progressing the work with a massive global brand like Louis Vuitton. We will see what happens on the runway next year. And only time will tell if the designer can leave his own signature stamp on the brand as the former creative director Marc Jacobs has.
