Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright and an accomplished architect in his own right, designed the Derby House for businessman James Derby in 1926 with influences from Mayan culture. The site is registered by the United States Department of Interior as a historic place and features a plaque that identifies it as a national landmark. The five-bedroom 3,281-square-foot home is for sale (along with the 1.53-acre lot that it sits on) for $1.63million. In addition to owning a historic site built by a master architect, the buyer gets two and three quarter baths, a two-story living room, and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace in the hexagonal dining room. The yucca plant patterned blocks that make up the walls are a little strange for our tastes, but some people will love it.
