Architecture website Curbed has developed a new semi-regular series called “All in the Details.” The series features photographs of architectural elements that are “little-noticed” and “under-appreciated” in New York. The first edition to the series is by fine-art photographer Bob Estremera, who captures faces hidden in plain sight on many buildings in the city, including some of the best known.
Estremera focuses primarily on architectural details that are not easy to spot because they are so high up, those that pedestrians would have to crane their necks and look for. Estremera chose to shoot the series in black-and-white in order to best capture the intricate details presented in the sculpted faces.
