A massive block of marble hangs precipitously above a marble walkway, surrounded by water, in the new installation by Alberto Campo Baeza. The Italian stone craft company Pibamarmi hired the Spanish architect to transform a room—almost a perfect cube at 8 by 8 by 4 meters—into a reflection of the company’s two greatest assets: light and gravity. The walkway is surrounded by water and, when gazed into, the room doubles in size, using light and the reflective qualities of the pool to actually become a perfect cube.
