Recently, to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of Wu-Tang Clan's Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), a super dope collection of Wu-Tang Clan clothing was released by the Staten Island hip-hop crew. While most of the gear sold out the same day it dropped, OG #influencer Regis Philbin was able to get his hands on a highly-coveted T-shirt straight from the hands of Raekwon.
Ghostface Killah and Raekwon swung through the Fox Sports talk show "Crowd Goes Wild" to talk all things Wu, sports, and hip-hop. And they made sure to bring gifts to offer before the altar of Regis, even though he introduced them as "Kaewon and Ghostface Killah."
After the taping of the show, Regis put on the tee that depicts the art that accompanied the very first Wu-Tang single, "Protect Ya Neck"/"After The Laughter Comes Tears" from 1992. Regis himself said that, even though he looks like a Dean Martin kinda guy, when he wants to blow off some steam, "I get in my car, I turn on the 8-track, I put on a little Wu-Tang." Now he's properly laced to go along with breaking his neck and throwing up the Wu symbol while thumping 36 Chambers.
There are still some items left on the Wu-Tang site, including sweaters, tees, snapbacks, and bulletproof wallets. Most pieces are sold out, and sizing is limited.
You'll have to act fast before the old people who are still influenced by Regis end up copping the last of this season's Wu-Tang Brand gear. Also, imagine if Raekwon had hit Regis off with the v. rare nunchucks instead of a T-shirt? Now that would have made for good television.
