In this video, Lynn Herbert, former senior curator of the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, talks about James Turrell's "The Color Inside" skyspace installed on the roof of the Student Activity Center of The University of Texas at Austin. The installation is described as a white plaster elliptical structure above a room lined with seating so that visitors and gaze up at the opening in the ceiling. The room also features Turrell's lights that blanket the space in shifting colors that "heighten perception" and blur the lines between ceiling and sky. Check out the video below and hear from someone who has experienced the space first hand.
