This morning, Design Miami/, which takes place December 4-8, announced that their pavilion this year will be designed by architecture firm formlessfinder. The company defines themselves as "a laboratory for methodological experimentation oriented toward the introduction of moments of formlessness into architecture," and the rendering affirms this philosophy.

The piece will combine sand and aluminum in unexpected ways to form "a dramatic aluminum roof miraculously balanced on the apex of a great pyramid of loose sand." On top of everything, the piece will naturally generate cool air to keep visitors comfortable in the hot Miami weather.
