Famed British artist David Hockney is set to open the largest exhibition in the history of the de Young Museum. The exhibition will include over 150 works that Hockney created using the Brushes app on his Apple iPad. It is rare for more traditional artists to embrace new technologies as fully as he does, yet when approached by the company to officially endorse the products Hockney decided to "keep his distance." In the exhibition, some of the printed artworks stand 12-feet-tall, a very impressive format for works created on a 9.7 inch screen.
