Starting next year the NYC retail scene is welcoming COS into the fold. The European mass retailer is opening up a 4,5000 square foot shop in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood in spring 2014. Before this, you couldn't find the brand anywhere outside Europe, so this is great news for fans who had to buy a plane ticket in order to cop quality clothing at Uniqlo-like prices.

This is the first flagship location for the brand in the U.S. and it probably wont it’s their last. Expect a lot more stores to follow, but it’s taking it one step at a time, as it will try to grow organically. ““Before we found this location, people were contacting us. We had such an enormous response,” says Maria Honda, the retailer’s head of business. Judging from that statement and our excitement, COS might have more than 10 stores in the U.S. by the end of 2014. It already accomplished that feat in London in 2007, so why not here?

Fans of the European brand might know it as similar to Uniqlo. It’s use of quality materials and attention to fit at unbeatable prices is unmatched. The clothes are more fashion-forward and stylish than a lot of other mass retailers, but the most expensive item is probably a $450 dollar coat for men. It’s a great deal for dope looking clothes.

If you can’t wait, you can head over to Opening Ceremony’s ongoing pop-up location and online store to whet your appetite on some clean designs. Then add 129 Spring Street in your address books for next year's permanent opening.
