The video below shows an hourly recap of people walking past the booth without noticing the pieces on sale for $60. A few passersby made purchases, but hardly any, making a truly striking commentary on how context and marketing influence the buying and selling of art.

Bansky says on Instagram that "This was a one off." Sucks for anyone in New York who missed the opportunity to buy some rare art!

UPDATE October 14, 2013 at 9:15 A.M.: BBC estimates that the $420 Banksy made from selling these pieces (some that the customers demanded discounts for), would have actually totaled $31,000 given the market value of his work.
