London-based street artist STIK was in New York City recently and painted a mural near Tompkins Square Park. The mural extends four stories above Doc Holliday's bar on the corner of Avenue A and East 9th Street. STIK's signature stick-figure is said to represent the history of Tompkins Square Park as it extends one arm in this piece entitled "Liberty." The pose similar to that of the Statue of Liberty, but it could also represent the culture of protest and demonstration that the park was known for in the mid-1800s.
