Street artist Sens unveiled a couple deep new pieces in Queretaro, Mexico. As part of the Board Dripper Festival, an emerging artists’ conference that seeks to provide public space for new artworks, the Mexican artist took to the streets to apply his brand of folk-meets-street art to a couple walls. He shared some photos on his website.
There’s a line between sweet and strange here that Sens toes delicately. Both murals feature faces comprised of many smaller faces, causing you to slow down and take a deeper look at the image. The Mexican artist also plays into inheritance and tradition with this motif, indicating we’re all made up of what’s come before us. While the images can be seen as quite cutesy, they are also kind of heavy, causing you to reflect on how actions resonate through generations.
