Plies put out a video that revealed his newest chain, which is a gold depiction of slain teen Travyon Martin. The rapper, a Florida native like Martin, explains how the jewelry is his own memorial piece, and what it means to him.

"I wanted to make sure I had the homie around my neck at all times," he says in the video. "He impacted my life just that much, so double salute to the whole Martin family. Double salute to everybody that been touched by the situation, this movement."

While it's definitely an unorthodox way to remember the shooting, trial, and acquittal verdict that rocked America, Plies does seem like he's genuine in his intentions to remember 17-year-old who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman. Everyone deals with tragedy in their own personal way, and it seems like this was Plies' way of doing it.

The video ends with Plies saying, "Trayvon, you'll forever live on."
