While rumors of New York Fashion Week moving to Hudson Yards are not new, recent developments have sprung up in the area, revitalizing the belief that the west Manhattan location will soon inherit NYFW.

Currently, construction plans have combined with fashion's fairy godmother, Diane von Furstenburg, to commence work on a "Culture Shed" that will be outfitted with studio and presentation spaces, runways, and 140-foot high movable canopy. While this does sound very modern, attractive and "capital F" fashion, the developers involved with the project insist that the space is planned to be "non-denominational."

Considering that a big name in New York's fashion scene is behind the designing of this new space, you'd think that fashion crowd would already be making reservations to move to the area. However, the inhospitable location at 10th Ave. and 30th St. makes it a difficult location to love, especially considering its distance from the subway.

While the project is slated to be completed in 2017 with lots of potential, we can't say for sure whether Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will relocate.
