This "Cuddly" Teddy Bear Sculpture Demands All the Hugs in Warsaw

A giant "friend" for all of Poland.

Iza Rutkowska of the Forms and Shapes Foundation noticed that the sculptures and monuments around Poland are mostly cold, uninviting commemorative pieces of wartime and political figures. She decided to create a living sculpture in the form of a giant stuffed teddy bear named The Cuddly. Passersby are invited to climb, hug, and play with the sculpture. The sculpture is currently "walking" to random locations in Poland, but there are plans to have it fly to other parts of the country and beyond. In the same vein as Florentijn Hofman's Rubber Duck, the sculpture brings happiness wherever it goes and will be a welcome visitor wherever it lands.
