Another Bridge Gets Yarnbombed, This Time in Brooklyn

Street artists attack the Williamsburg Bridge.

Two weeks ago, The Fiber Arts Guild of Pittsburgh released a plan to cover the Andy Warhol Bridge in their hometown with 600 blankets knit by 1,847 artists. Yesterday, the street art duo HOT TEA yarn bombed New York's Williamsburg Bridge, stringing rainbow yarn across the top of the bride's Brooklyn access ramp.

HOT TEA hails from Minneapolis, and they claim that their yarn-based projects are inspired by everything from time spent in jail to their grandmothers' knitting. This isn't the first time the duo has yarn bombed a bridge. In 2010, HOT TEA installed a work called Socorro where they created a colorful yarn ceiling over a bridge in Seward, Alaska.
