We've all read about Leonardo da Vinci's genius, but now you will have the chance to witness it first-hand as the Smithsonian has announced that his Codex on the Flight of Birds will be on show at the National Air and Space Museum. On loan from the Biblioteca Reale in Italy, the notebook dates back to the year 1515 and contains da Vinci's detailed observations, sketches, and blueprints for devices designed to give man the ability to fly, created 400 years before the first plane was invented.
Museum director Gen. Jack Daily stated that the Codex has only been to the United States once and that the museum is honored to host such an important piece of history. More information is available via the Smithsonian.
