Not every field will be equally responsive to an out-of-the-box résumé. But in the end, it's at your discretion if you want to take the risk or not. Even in a more conservative field, if executed in the right way, a graphic résumé could really blow away a potential employer. But definitely make sure you keep a look out for jobs that specify they do not want graphic résumés.
In general, for any type of designer, this type of résumé can really show off your skills. There has also been a growing trend of graphic résumés in the marketing and advertising worlds lately.
If you don't want to commit to an entire graphic résumé, you can always use parts of it. Use one graphic image that works well. It will set your résumé apart without being too nontraditional.
