Gap and the GQ's latest batch of the Best New Menswear Designers in America are back. Last time these two linked up was a success, as most of the items didn’t sit long enough to warm up the shelves. Now there’s a whole new group of designers on deck. Each of GQ’s picks will be design a whole new capsule collection totaling up to 37 pieces in all. Thankfully we get a preview.
This year’s designers include Paige Mycoskie of Aviator Nation, Ernest Alexander Sabine of Ernest Alexander, Matt Baldwin of Baldwin, and Sammy Fayed of Bespoken. A quick look shows items including a trucker cap, backpack, a shawl cardigan and a baseball jacket. Each designer had their on inspirations for their pieces, but the one sure thing is that they didn’t sacrifice on quality. And so far we see no controversial pieces. But if this is anything like the last collection, don’t sleep on it.
