"MoMA PS1's Wide-Ranging Expo 1: New York" by ARTINFO

This video is a must-see for anyone who missed "Expo 1" or wants to relive the magic of the exhibition. Developed by MoMA PS1 Director and MoMA Chief Curator-at-Large Klaus Biesenbach with Hans Ulrich Obrist, the exhibition expressed a "dark optimism" for the future of the environment, as shown in works by Adrián Villar Rojas, Olafur Eliasson, Agnes Denes, and others.

"Checking In with Dame Dash, A Few Days After the Instagram Seen 'Round the World"

Complex Senior Editor Foster Kamer did a mini-profile on Dame Dash at his newish art gallery in downtown New York, Poppington Gallery. Afterward, he asked him about the Instagrams of Jay and Dame together at a mutual Def Jam friend's birthday party in Williamsburg. It turns out that it was "closure," and also that Dame has a lot of projects in the works.

Lady Gaga's Four V Magazine Covers

While Miley Cyrus' photo shoot at Terry Richardson's studio was a huge hit on the Internet this past week (she does the handstand twerk), Lady Gaga's four covers for V, depicting "The New Artist," "Phase One," "Donatella," and "This is ARTPOP" are out of control, in a good way. In the corresponding spreads, she's mostly naked, but she finds a way to bear it all differently each time. There's also a four-part interview with Marina Abramovic and Gaga that's excellent.

Yahoo!'s Marissa Mayer Describes Her Art Collection As "Happy Art"

Yahoo!'s Marissa Mayer, who came from Google to revive the company, isn't lacking much, except possibly "sad art." In her recent Vogue profile, she describes her art collection containing Jeff Koons and Roy Lichtenstein as "happy art," which no doubt includes the life-size Palo Alto Peninsula Diner miniature she has installed in her backyard. The news is random but also awesome.

ROA recently pained this mural on the side of Pandemic Gallery in Brooklyn for the "10 Years of Wooster Collective" art show at Jonathan Levine Gallery. In classic ROA style, an animal is shown sliced open for all passersby to see.

Kendrick Lamar "Control" Memes

The biggest music news of last week was Kendrick Lamar taking over Big Sean's "Control" and declaring himself "The King of New York." Responses have followed, but nothing, including Big Sean's preceding verse, has come even close. The memes are the only type of response that seem to make sense at this point.

Matt Jones' "Planetary" exhibition at the Bleecker Street Arts Club is only up until August 31, but it's a sight to behold. It's for fans of space travel and abstract painting alike, combining large, flat sculptures of astronauts and arms with intergalactic-inspired paintings. The intersection between art and space travel will never get old.

The MoMA "Soundings" exhibition has been on a lot of tongues lately, because sound art is being given an incredible platform and the site gives people all over the world a way to interact with the installations there. Visitors to the site can also contribute a sonic moment via its Dropbox. What are you waiting for?

Scott Campbell's "SAVED" Wine

The artist known for his tattooing, Scott Campbell, launched his wine collaboration with Clay Brock this week, which shares the name of his shop, "SAVED." His SAVED Red and “Magic Maker” Rosé have labels designed by him that share of the magic of his tattooing and visual art work. He also recently designed the temporary tattoo for his wife, Lake Bell, who is on the new cover of New York magazine to promote her upcoming film.

Os Gemeos

We celebrated Os Gemeos Week at Complex Art+Design for the launch of the beloved street artist twins' collaboration with Hennessy. They added their special touch to the label, depicting a scene from their hometown of São Paulo. We attended the launch party in New York, where Os Gemeos also DJed before a set by DJ Jazzy Jeff and a performance by Nas.
