Inspired by UK artist Ryan Humphrey, comic artist James Harvey had a brilliant idea to organize a complete mashup of one of the greatest science fiction comics of all time with The Simpsons, arguably the greatest show of all time. He sent out a call for submissions via Tumblr so that other artists could join in on the 2000 page project. In total, 768 artists were assigned pages and given basic guidelines so that the comic remained cohesive and readable (which characters to substitute for the originals, which vehicles to use, etc.). The result is one of the largest crowd-sourced comic projects of all time and so far it is awesome. Bart Simpson as Kaneda and Milhouse as Tetsuo is too perfect! To check out the progress on the comic, track the hashtag #bartika on Tumblr.
