Construction on the new Whitney Museum of American Art building is well underway as they work to meet their 2015 opening goal. The museum waved goodbye to its Upper East Side home of 50 years to start fresh in the Meatpacking District with a shiny new nine-story, 220,000 square-foot build next to the Highline, 12 blocks away from where the original museum stood before it headed uptown in 1954.

 We've seen pictures of the progress they've made so far, now the good people of Blouin ARTINFO have produced a hard-hat video tour of the space led by Vanessa Yurkevich. The tour includes interviews with the Whitney director Adam Weinberg, chief curator Donna De Salvo, and leading museum architect Renzo Piano. Check it out:
