While there are many fun things to do as a young couple, college students James Doernberg and Kai Jordan embarked on a journey to get to know the New York City subway system by going to each and every stop in Manhattan, taking a photo to mark their visit. The two stopped at all 118 stations in the city to briefly get off the train, snap a selfie, and hop back on, as they traveled underground throughout the metropolis.

While there are actually a total of 143 labeled stations in Manhattan, counting those that share the same complex, the total number comes to 118. The entire project took around nine hours. Occasionally during rush hour, Doernberg and Jordan had to wait for the next train after taking a satisfactory picture instead of being able to continue their trip right away. The entire collection of selfies titled "Every Subway Station in Manhattan" is available online.
