Harris has created site-specific installations that speak to environmentalism and waste, fashioning plastic sheeting and garbage bags into animal forms. The creatures only take shape when provided with a gust of air—Harris installs his sculptures above the ventilation grates of subways. While he works with waste storage products and depends on the very movement of mass transit, Harris forces one to think about the effect that urban life and its run-off has on environments removed from daily purview.
