The heritage trend may have come and past in men's style, but there's still an appreciation for how stylish people looked back in the day—it's just appropriated in a different fashion. Brands such as Ferris New York are taking vintage fabrics and turning them into new, exciting pieces that can be worn by today's streetwear enthusiasts.

The brand's designer, Taylor Conlin, recently talked to Racked NY about he went from being a college dropout to launching a budding brand and producing a collection for the Wu-Tang Clan. And on top everything, he owns a shop, too.

"I dropped out of college to pursue clothing," Conlin told the website. "I'm not about trends. I am all about that street wear, high-end thing that is hot right now."

And it should come as no surprise that Conlin finds inspiration in multiple avenues, he lives in city's most diverse borough, Brooklyn. "In terms of how it affects us, it's just perfect. Right now it's pretty diverse, and there are people here who that understand our stuff," Conlin said.
