Atlanta-based artist Elizabeth Beals has imagined female superheroes from DC Comicsas hipsters that are real enough to reside in Brooklyn. From Batgirl to Wonder Woman, these female heroes are shown dressed in urban outfits with nonchalant poses. This reimagining of comic stars gives new life and new personalities to icons of the past. Including stereotypical hipster fashions, such as skinny jeans, glasses, cut-off shorts, and colorful hair, the illustrations present superheroes with a modern-day attitude.
