If you love Monopoly and consider yourself addicted to Facebook, which seems to be the case for most of us, this game was made just for you. Graphic designer Pat C. Klein has invented Facebook: The Board Game, designed to "create an experience to persuade people to stop using the Internet forever." While there are perks to using social media and engaging in online communication, Klein shows that face-to-face, real human interaction is far more significant and rewarding as an experience.

Facebook: The Board Game resembles Monopoly, with "Like" and "Status" cards stacked in the center instead of "Chance" and "Community Chest" options. Familiar Facebook terms and actions can be found throughout the game, including "Friend Request," "Comment," and "Tag." Each square encourages some type of offline social engagement. If players land on "Event," they are asked to schedule a real life gathering. Cards ask questions like, "Have you had any good news you'd like to share?"

Although the board game wouldn't exist without Facebook, it is a smart way to promote real life interaction by increasing awareness about the amount of time users spend online. If you are constantly thinking in Facebook terms or interactions throughout life, give this game a try and reflect on your current relationship with social media.
