The Elttob Tep Issey Miyake Ginza Store Has an Incredible Origami Window Sculpture

The piece mirrors the line's designs.

Tokyo-based design studioDrawing and Manual created a large white sculptural display with Fablab Shibuya for the Elttob Tep Issey Miyake store in Ginza. Appearing to be suspended in mid-air, the piece is reminiscent of the iconic origami style of the brand's 132.5 line. While Issey Miyake often seems to blend the idea of fabric being like paper in clothing lines featuring pleats and folds, the display emphasizes the complexity of such surfaces with its many crevices and angles. Fluorescent halo-like circular lighting and straight tubes surround the central piece, illuminating some areas and leaving others in shadows.
