Everyone has a photo app these days--Chris Brown, Snoop Lion, and now doctors apparently.Figure 1is an app that isn't as glamorous as many celebrity-edorsed apps, however it has the potential to make strides in the medical community. It is like Instagram, however it is only used to display images that are important to health professionals.

The images help doctors share pictures of cases they are encountering or otherwise would like some feedback on. The app also allows professionals to form networks with colleagues or people all over. But the pictures are best seen by just people in these communities because most would give you the heebie-jeebies.

“I developed Figure 1 because I wanted a safe way to share medical images with the medical community, while protecting patients’ privacy,” says Joshua Landy, the co-founder of Figure 1.

You may be worried that your face may end up on the app but you shouldn't. Figure 1 automatically blocks faces and identifying marks (like tattoos) can be painted over. Also a consent form is built into the app so your image is pretty safe.
