Dress codes are the worst, even if you don't work at an awful retail store (or even in a corporate position). As the weather turns to swamp-like conditions, some employers don't allow for changes in their employees' wardrobe. This even extends to those who drive trains in Sweden: An area normally known for its frosty weather and hot blondes, can apparently get pretty uncomfortable. The men who man these trains wanted to ditch their overwhelming trousers, but to no avail. Their solution? wear skirts, which are allowed on female workers, and, apparently, men.
We've seen men wearing skirts gain a head-scratching popularity outside of Scotland and Mel Gibson films. But the weather in the Scandinavian country reached an unbearable extreme of more than 90 degrees, prompting 13 male drivers to wear skirts. Not being allowed to wear shorts, one driver told the BBC: "We have always said that when summer comes, we will get some skirts and wear them. It's very warm weather here so we would like to wear shorts but if we can't then we have skirts for comfort,"
The craziest part? It's not much of a protest, the driver's employer, Arriva, doesn't mind at all. This isn't good news for the drivers, but if your favorite rapper happens to drop a brick of an album—Sweden isn't looking so bad.
