Anything worn by Kanye West is a slow-digesting meal; an unconventional blouse, mask, or head-to-toe look he wears first gets rejected, even ridiculed, but eventually championed. The rapper's performance last night at Governors Ball meant more of the same: he came, wore some clothes we'd never seen before, and ultimately sent the Internet ablaze. A normal day in the life of Yeezy.

Sure, Yeezy wore his kicks that are about to set the sneaker world on fire, the all-red Nike Air Yeezy IIs, but he also wore what appears to be the return of acid-wash denim—except this time, the '80s-favorite jeans play with proportion. He might have even take style tips from Saved by the Bell, more specifically A.C. Slater, if your favorite mulleted-jock wrapped nylon straps around his legs. And that's not even the most interesting part of his on-stage attire.

Yeezy wore a loosely-fitting poncho with a heavy waxed-canvas rucksack slung over his shoulder. Maybe this look was a much-needed middle finger to the over-abundant leather look that suffocated the sweltering heat at Hot 97's Summer Jam. A look that Mr. West helped bring to the backs of all your favorite rappers.

Is this the new, new? Will rappers begin dressing for tactical missions again? No word yet on what brands and pieces he is wearing, but we will have an update soon.
