Photographer Kaitlin Rebesco Toured Paris With Her "Head in the Clouds" Series

See what the city looks like from the sky.

New York-based photographer Kaitlin Rebesco went on a tour of Paris and did not want to finish her journey with a set of images that look like banal stock photos. Translating the feeling of floating around the city that she often gets while walking through its streets, she created the "Head in the Clouds" series featuring only the tips of Paris' landmark buildings. As we play guessing games in identifying otherwise highly recognizable structures including the Louvre pyramid, Eiffel Tower, La Samaritaine, and Notre Dame, her perspective presents new scenes in sites too often photographed. Although the locations are usually visual keys that mark the city's identity, taking them away from the Paris backdrop and replacing it with the sky allows the to exist on their own.
