"Digital Grotesque" Is an 80 Million Surface 3D Printed Room (Video)

Taking the technology to another level.

It's official: 3D printing is here to stay. The list of uses for the relatively new technology continues to grow, and we aren't talking about the stupid crapMichael Hansmeyer and Benjamin Dillenburger have created what may be the first digitally printed architectural space. These prototype pieces of "Digital Grotesque" show a 1:3 scale model of a project that will launch in July. The completed room will feature 80 million surfaces and gold gilding. 

This implications of this are huge. Will that 3D printed building become a reality sooner than we think? Fingers crossed.
