We love Tracey Emin. We were excited to hear about her stint in Times Square and now we're even more hyped to hear that she will be landing her first show at an American museum. Coming in December, the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miamiwill be presenting “Tracey Emin: Angel Without You." Many of her signature neon signs will be on display, showing her growth throughout her career. The show will also be kicking off the next installment of Art Basel Miami Beach.

Many of her neon signs are basically electrified renderings of her handwriting with an artistic spin. Although she has shown artworks in different mediums, her diary aesthetic reflected in all that she does originated from her neon sign work. Visitors will see 60 pieces that the artist has created over the past two decades. Fan favorites like her 1995 work The Tracey Emin Museum will be shown along with a large-scale work that will sit in the courtyard of the museum.

Accompanying the signs will be a film entitled “Why I Never Became a Dancer," a confrontational movie that explain's the artist's dark childhood and traumatic events that occured to her throughout her life. The film, purchased by MOCA in 1998, was the first acquisition of Emin's work by an American museum.

“As a towering figure in Britain’s contemporary art community — and arguably one of the most significant female artists of her generation,” said MOCA’s executive director and chief curator Bonnie Clearwater, “Tracey Emin is long overdue for a solo museum exhibition in the United States. As an early supporter of Tracey’s work, we’re thrilled to mount this unprecedented exploration of her neon sculptures.”
