To fill an empty lot of 10x90 meters in a city setting, MAD Arkitekter has developed a series of stainless steel bike stands shaped like bicycles. The Norwegian studio designed the "MAD Bike" to be arranged in an urban space catering to pedestrians and cyclists, providing 200 spaces for bicycles to be parked. Combining form and function, the appropriately shaped stands generate an attitude of creativity in the space they occupy, as they go beyond merely serving their intended purpose.
