John Currinpainted his work Bea Arthur Naked over 20 years ago, however it still grabs attention. His work depicting the late "Golden Girls" actress embodies feminism and a sense of humor. The piece is controversial in the smartest of ways.

We can't show you the piece here because Complex is all about the kids. However Gawker DGAF so you can head on over there to see the work in its entirety.

The painting will be sold at Christie's "Post-War and Contemporary Art Sale" in New York City tonight. Early estimates suggest the piece could sell for $1.8-$2.5 million. Say what you want about the piece, but not every painting showing a female topless could rank in millions of dollars.

The painting has a history. It originally "made a small stir with his commercial-gallery debut, in 1992, which featured acrid fantasy portraits of menopausal women -- images suspended, in his words, 'between the object of desire and the object of loathing,'" wrote Peter Schjeldahl in The New Yorker in 2003, according to Hollywood Reporter.
