Get Lost in Carolyn Marks Blackwood's Photographs of Unexpectedly Colorful Clouds

Who says the sky has to be blue?

While photographer Carolyn Marks Blackwood's photo series "Clouds" may feature a ubiquitous subject, her individual shots portray the sky in transient moments of beauty. Photographed from her Hudson Valley home in New York, the skies show off a full spectrum of hues as wisps of clouds are lit by sunlight to glow in pink, red, orange, and yellow. Although conventional thinking leads us to envision a blue sky and white or gray clouds, the photographer is able to capture moments in which the sky can transform to resemble an ever-changing painting of itself.
