Champion Japan Takes it Back Way Before NBA Jam With Latest Lookbook

The sports brand goes back to the '50s for spring/summer 2013.

Champion is super hot again. We've contemplated this issue several times, but the iconic sportswear brand continues to impress us. Especially the Japanese line. Everything is better in Japan. Champion's across-the-Pacific offering is much more than "look how cool Champion looks now." The brand didn't simply take jerseys off the backs of Alonzo Mourning, Detlef Schrempf, or whoever you used to son your friends with in NBA Jam. Champion went way further back than that for its spring/summer 2013 collection. Included in the line-up are an assortment of jerseys, sweats, and even prep-inspired garments that remind us that sports players actually used to wear real clothes at one time—not just the latest sweat and heat-resistant gear.
