Students at the University of Derby have stated an ongoing project entitled The Human Printer. The students take photographs and reproduce the CMYK halftone printing effect by hand. The process has to be cumbersome, with every dot placed individually to recreate each image. Also, the students have to have some sort of prior knowledge of how the image should look in the end. The video below shows how the project is being performed.
